Message from EPLA Secretary regarding court attire

As a representative of the NSW Barristers Clerk’s Association I recently met with Registrars of a number of courts.

All practitioners are reminded of the following matters when appearing in all Courts, before Judges, Masters, Commissioners and Registrars:

  1. Business attire is required to be worn when appearing in Court (including the Registrar’s Court and onsite hearings).
  2. Business attire includes jacket and tie
  3. In extreme hot weather, leave can be given for a jacket to be removed
  4. Inappropriate attire can result in the Court refusing to hear/see you.

The Court attire policy for robing is available on all court websites.
