Metropolitan Strategy review underway
Community and stakeholder consultation is now underway on a review of Sydney’s Metropolitan Strategy.
The Department has released a discussion paper named
Sydney Towards 2036 as a first step in this review. The discussion paper highlights key challenges including jobs growth in Western Sydney, making Sydney climate change-ready, placing new homes close to services and infrastructure and revitalising our centres.online community forum on the NSW Government’s Shape Your State website.
Infrastructure SEPP paper also released
Feedback is also sought on a discussion paper outlining proposed changes to the Infrastructure SEPP.
The Infrastructure SEPP has, since its introduction in 2008, been the key planning policy streamlining the approval process for the delivery of 25 types of infrastructure facilities across the State, from schools to railways and emergency services.
The review of the Infrastructure SEPP will help ensure it remains up-to-date and responsive to the State’s infrastructure needs – including those identified in Sydney’s Metropolitan Transport Plan.
