14 September 2009: Australian Young Environmental Lawyer of the Year Award - call for nominations

The Australian Young Environmental Lawyer of the Year Award is awarded to a young practising barrister, solicitor, or university employee who has made a significant contribution to environmental law. Each recipient has carried out extra work giving back to the legal community as well as to the community at large.

The Awards are conducted annually by the Australian Environment and Planning Law Group of the Law Council's Legal Practice Section.

To be eligible for the award the following criteria must be met:

1. Practising barrister or solicitor; or employed full time in a University.
2. Under 35 years of age.
3. Significant contribution to environmental law.
4. Papers presented and/or published.
5. Any voluntary contribution within the profession or environment.

Nominations for the 2009 Award close on 30 September 2009, and should be sent to:
