New eLearning Modules released

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment has released two new eLearning Modules about the Greenfield Housing Code, Inland Code and new farm building standards.

These codes and standards have been introduced to simplify the planning process for new houses, home renovations and farm buildings and achieve faster approvals in greenfield (new release) areas and inland NSW.

The new eModules are short online courses which are designed for:

  • Council customer service staff, planners and building surveyors
  • Homeowners and businesses wanting to learn more about exempt and complying development 
  • Builders and Building Designers
  • Certifiers wishing to take a refresher course
  • Anyone wanting to explore private certification as a career option.

About the codes

The Greenfield Housing Code commenced on 6 July 2018. The Inland Code and new farm building standards commenced on 1 January 2019.

eLearning Module Users already registered

Existing users of the eLearning Module for exempt and complying development may have recently received an email advising that they have been enrolled in the Greenfield Housing Code Module. This email was simply to notify existing registered users that they now have access to the new courses.
