You are invited to participate in a study of how an existing community and new incoming residents can be
involved in the design and building of a living neighbourhood for themselves.

A three day workshop will investigate Christopher Alexander’s participatory community urban design process.  It will be tested at Alexandra Canal, St Peters.

The workshop is free and will be conducted during the working week (this is flexible – depending majority)? It is not necessary to attend all components but it would be useful. The aim is to practice urban design process which focuses on community input as the main drivers for the shape, scale and design of the new neighbourhood? It is at its core an ecologically sustainable development process.

This research project is part of Bart Maiorana's PhD thesis undertaken at the Faculty of Built Environment at the University of New South Wales. Attached is a Project Information Statement and Project Consent Form.

Consent forms are to be returned by Monday, 5 December 2011.  If you are not able to send the signed form but wish to attend please let us know through e-mail and bring the signed form on Monday and or sign one at the workshop.
