Members and Friends of EPLA are invited to the second Twilight Seminar of 2015: "The Land and Environment Court Update: Planning Principles, Policies and Practice Notes"

Since 2005 planning principles stated by the Court have played a key role in planning in NSW.  In 2013 the (then) Senior Commissioner Moore announced that the commissioners of the Court would begin a process of revising the planning principles as they arose for consideration in cases before the Court.  Since that time a number of planning principles have been revised or set aside.  Acting Justice Moore (as he now is) will address attendees on the progress of the review - what has been reviewed, how the process will continue and why it must be effected through decisions of the Court and, finally, the possibility for new planning principles emerging in the future.  He will also address how legal and other professionals regularly appearing in merit matters in the Court can contribute to the process.

Other recent developments have meant that the first half of 2015 has seen the introduction of a number of new practice notes and policies for the Court.  As always, these seek to achieve the "quick, just and cheap" resolution of the real issues in the proceedings.  Acting Senior Commissioner Brown and Registrar Gray will address legal practitioners on what the practice notes mean for their daily practice in the Court.

Presented by:  Acting Justice Tim Moore, Acting Senior Commissioner Graham Brown, Registrar Joanne Gray

Cost: EPLA Members:  $33; Non-members:  $44; Students $11
